The octopus chorizo taco is perfection because it combines the texture of octopus with the flavor of chorizo, bringing the best of both worlds
Oooooh boy, is this place great! This restaurant features some of the best Mexican food in Brooklyn. Everything is super savory. My go-to is the enchiladas verde. Solid Guac and chips as well! This past trip I also tried the tortilla soup which was very tasty and smokey. The staff always super kind and helpful. The restaurant itself is cozy even when it's busy.
The tres leches alone was stellar! And I'm a tough critic. I had the Al pastor torta. It was good but I wouldn't order it again. But that cake made the trip all worth it.
Food delicious, classic Mexican, not pretentious , service on point, not overbearing. Ambience; this is a beautiful place, the sun radiates, the wood, the mirrors,.
What can I complain about this restaurant? My personally favorite thing to eat here looks like none of them. My husband loves here because they have steak and eggs for breakfast. I'm in other hand. I already tried grilled fish, ceviche shrimp or other dishes. None is my cup of tea, honestly. Today I order Nopal Asado; it is grilled cactus top with Oaxacan cheese and rajas con crema. I kind of like it. I know now what should I order when I come to this Maxican place. Limitation of food I like but I can make it works.
Where do I begin! The food was DELICIOUS, the guacamole was flavorful and done just right (perfect amount of salt, acidity, onions). I got the Pulpo y chorizo tacos and I wishhhhh I had more. I heard no complaints around the table other than we were still hungry and wanted more. The place works well for groups, I saw another group (other than ours) and the place seated everyone and functioned well. Staff was friendly. Another pro was that the bathroom was clean and well decorated. Only thing I'd say is that the margaritas don't really taste like anything but tequila. The mango and watermelon margaritas tasted the same and the only way to tell them apart was by its colored appearance. Also, I'd probably skip out on dessert over here. They were no good. Got the flan and it was not real flan (consistency was thick and did not bounce like normal flan) and didn't taste that good.
I had a great experience here! I liked the nice atmosphere, which was lively without being too loud. We started with the guacamole, which was great. It came with a unique salsa and homemade corn chips. I ordered the Chile Relleno Vegetariano for my main, which is a vegetarian stuffed pepper. It looked small at first, but ended up being the perfect portion in combination with the chips & guacamole. It was delicious! The ingredients melded so well together and I especially liked that the pumpkin seeds provided a good crunch to the dish. One of my friends really liked her tacos, but my friend who ordered the chicken enchiladas verdes said that while the flavor was good, the dish was a bit dry. It seems that based on our experience and the Yelp reviews, some dishes are a hit and some are a miss. Luckily, my dishes were a hit and overall I think is a good local spot!
First trip to Brooklyn NYC and we wanted to try something local and truly NY. So Mexican food it is! Service was impeccable. The charming young host welcomed us like it was his own home. The brisket tacos are tasty. The chicken quesadillas were juicy and delicious. The mushroom tacos were unbelievably good...had that umami in spades. Cosy little place in a lively and diverse neighbourhood. Muchos gracias
